Bulldog Steel Fabrication Begins Building Expansion

Bulldog Steel Fabrication is adding a new 15,000 square foot building expansion that will be utilized as the cornerstone of their welding and painting operations.

Madison, GA, February 21, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Bulldog Steel Fabrication (BSF), a premier supplier of steel fabricated parts and components in Georgia, today enjoyed the ground breaking ceremony for phase one of their building expansion project.

The new 15,000 square foot expansion will be located at the north end of Bulldog Steels existing 50,000 square foot facility. The expansion will be utilized as the cornerstone of their welding and painting operations.

“After years of working to fulfill our mission of offering our customer’s quality welded components and painting solutions, all of the pieces have fallen into place,” said Fred Huggins, Structural & Facilities Manager of BSF. “It’s a very exciting time here at BSF because this expansion is occurring during our benchmark six year anniversary, so the timing couldn’t have been more ideal!”

Last summer, the company took its first steps toward expansion with the introduction of Peak Steel Contractors, a trusted 6 years in business, multiple discipline construction company based in Madison, GA. Peak Steel worked with BSF closely over the past 8 months on the plans for the many advanced details of the new facility that will give them a strategic manufacturing advantage over their competitors.

The all new 15,000 square foot facility will include multiple 4 ton over head cranes to move product quickly between our Mobile Home, Tiny Home, and other miscellaneous Base Frame operation areas. The new expansion will be fitted with all new Miller Welding machines and BSF will use fully weldment certificated staff.

At the heart of the new expansion is the all new eco friendly Side Down Draft Paint Booth custom built by Global Finishing Solutions. The paint booth gives BSF the capability to apply wet coat paint applications ranging from smaller individual components to welded structures of 10’(H)x16’(w)x 60’(L) and weighing up to 30k pounds. The state of the art paint booth feature include a 35,000 CFM direct fire gas heated air make up system, complete dual filtration system, four 36” tube axial inline exhaust fans, an auto balance air system to maintain ambient temperature, a 100% air replacement system, a Dwyer MARK II Manometer to monitor paint overspray build up on exhaust filters each with its own filter system.

“Our team is very excited about our paint booth and weldment facility, and for what it will mean for our business, as well as our great customers,” said General Manager, Carlin Thomas. “We feel this addition will position us for many future opportunities to penetrate new market sectors, while at the same time giving our current clientel improved quality and shorter lead times than we’ve been able to provide in the past.”

This past Friday officials from the city of Madison were present at BSF to help break ground on the new development. Construction crews are scheduled to begin work Monday morning, with principle construction being completed by the end of March. Bulldog Steel anticipates the addition being in full operation within the first few weeks of April.

“We’d like to thank our city officials for their help in making the expansion possible. We’ve been embraced by members of the city and the business community. We feel very welcome and encouraged to continue our plans for growth,” commented BSF Operations manager Loni Johnson.
