Marlborough, MA, May 17, 2017 --(PR.com
)-- The Marlborough Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) has launched a marketing campaign, targeting regional food and beverage industry leaders, with the goal of attracting more upscale restaurants to Marlborough.
The MEDC has also created a dedicated “Restaurant Wanted” webpage, which outlines some of the benefits of opening a restaurant in the city.
Unlike most Massachusetts communities, Marlborough does not have a limit on the number of liquor licenses it can issue. Marlborough also has the largest concentration of hotel rooms outside of Greater Boston, and, over the past four years, more than 60 companies have moved to or expanded in the city.
According to the Massachusetts Alliance for Economic Development (MassEcon), close to 60,000 employees work within a 5-mile radius from the city. The same area is home to more than 84,000 residents, who spend about 7% of their income on dining out.
All of these factors make Marlborough a particularly attractive location for restaurateurs, says MEDC executive director, Meredith Harris.
“Marlborough’s business community has been growing at a rapid rate in recent years, and with it, so has the demand for more upscale establishments,” said Harris. “Corporate executives and employees are looking for places to conduct meetings and entertain their clients, and we want to give them, and our residents, more fine-dining options right here in the city. We are ready to help any interested restaurateurs with whatever we can to make their move to Marlborough as smooth and rewarding as possible.”
