Dover, DE, May 20, 2017 --(PR.com
)-- Dover Downs Hotel & Casino was recognized for the 14th consecutive year as a AAA Four-Diamond Award winner on Monday, May 15 during a ceremony in Philadelphia.
The event at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia recognized hotels and restaurants from Delaware, New Jersey and Philadelphia that earned AAA Four- and Five-Diamond distinction. Dover Downs Hotel & Casino was the only Kent County establishment to receive the recognition.
According to AAA’s website, Four-Diamond designation is placed on facilities that are “refined, stylish with upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail.” Less than 6 percent of 28,000 reviewed hotels receive a AAA Four-Diamond rating.
"Dover Downs Hotel & Casino is proud to once again receive this prestigious award,” said Ed Sutor, president of Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. “Our employees continue to deliver outstanding customer service throughout the property. We are proud to have such a dedicated and loyal group of employees who over the years have exceeded our guests’ expectations."
To be considered for AAA rating and approval, restaurants and lodging facilities must undergo a thorough annual inspection by one of AAA’s 65 full-time, trained professional evaluators. The inspectors conduct unannounced evaluations and then assign a rating to establishments in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Only establishments that meet the extensive quality criteria can receive the AAA Diamond rating.
The hotel was opened in 2002 with 232 well-appointed rooms. A major addition was completed in 2008 and added 268 luxury hotel rooms, a lavish, full-service spa, and 11 spa suites fully equipped with wet bars, plasma screen TVs and some feature fireplaces or billiard tables. Headline entertainment is regularly featured in the Rollins Center.
Dover Downs Hotel & Casino first received the AAA Four-Diamond recognition in 2003. For more information on Dover Downs Hotel & Casino visit doverdowns.com.
