Rhoads Awarded $3 Million from RACP for Navy Yard’s Building 57 Reconstruction Project
Philadelphia, PA, January 31, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Rhoads Industries, Inc. (Rhoads), a strategic partner and total solution provider of industrial fabrication, installation, maintenance services and facilities, was awarded a $3 million grant to aid in a reconstruction project at Building 57, their headquarters at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
Rhoads was one of 149 recipients of funds totaling $1.7 billion from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), a Commonwealth grant program that makes larger scale investments in capital projects to help drive the economic growth of Pennsylvania. 399 projects statewide sought funding for their work throughout Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Montgomery and Delaware Counties.
The RACP award will aid in the renovation of Building 57 at the Navy Yard by supporting the continued reconstruction that will be completed during Phase II on this 300,000 sf of unique heavy manufacturing space. Rhoads’ Development Specialist Joseph Welsh, who led the team in requesting the funds, said this contribution will help accelerate the timing of this project.
Restoration of Building 57 began in late 2014 and Rhoads has recently announced the completion of Phase I of the project, which has allowed the team to exhibit their full range of skills and expand their space for more opportunities in the near future.
Rhoads Industries extends their gratitude for this award to Governor Tom Wolf and his office, as well as State Representative Marie Donatucci, State Senator Larry Farnese and State Senator and Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee Vincent Hughes.
