Kelley Kronenberg Partner Maritza I. Gomez Appointed Secretary of the Puerto Rican Bar Association of Florida
Fort Lauderdale, FL, April 06, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Kelley Kronenberg, a diverse business law firm, announced that Partner Maritza I. Gomez was recently appointed by the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rican Bar Association of Florida to serve as Secretary of the association.
Founded in 2003, the Puerto Rican Bar Association of Florida serves as a voice for the Puerto Rican population living in the state of Florida. By linking culture, heritage and a common interest on issues impacting the Puerto Rican community, the association looks to promote the advancement of Puerto Ricans in the legal profession. Through partnerships with other organizations, the association looks to increase awareness, cultivate and maintain strong relationships and open the channels of communication to promote the exchange of ideas and embark on common ventures.
Gomez concentrates her practice on Employment and Labor Law in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. She represents national and local corporations in all areas of labor and employment law, including matters dealing with Title VII, Equal Pay Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, Florida Civil Rights Act, Florida Minimum Wage Act and the Florida Whistleblower Act. She is fluent in Spanish and conversational in French, and is admitted to practice law in Florida and Puerto Rico.
In addition to her involvement with the Puerto Rican Bar Association of Florida, Gomez is a member of the National Employment Law Council (NELC), the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA), the Miramar/Pembroke Pines Chamber of Commerce, and the Diversity Committee for the National Association of Women Lawyers.
Gomez earned her Juris Doctor Degree, magna cum laude, from Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico Law School and her Master of Laws degree from Tulane University Law School on a Fullbright Scholarship.
