Getzner Expands in U.S., Opens First Production Facility

Decatur Plant to Manufacture Railway & Construction Products

Decatur, IL, June 28, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Getzner USA, Inc., the leading expert for vibration isolation and protection, announces the opening of its first-ever production facility in North America, allowing it to expand its product range domestically. The Decatur, Ill., plant manufactures several products, including elastic bearings for railway traffic and products for the bedding of buildings made from Getzner's high-tech materials: Sylomer®, Sylodyn® and Sylodamp®. Using raw materials from the U.S., the plant meets the requirements of the Buy America Act. Getzner Werkstoffe, based in Austria, has been active in North America for more than 20 years, with headquarters in Charlotte, N.C., since 2013.

“The production facility opens up a range of new opportunities for our customers in the U.S. as we track with the continued needs and growth in the railway industry,” states Andreas Denk, President of Getzner USA. “While our research and development will remain in Austria, we can guarantee even better and faster customer support for all our North American customers with this new U.S. production facility,” continues Denk.

Illinois Job Creation
By opening the plant, Getzner is creating new jobs in the U.S. The moulded part plant is state-of-the-art, plus has excellent potential for future expansion.

"For the first two years, employees from Buers, Austria, will gradually train their new colleagues," explains Denk. "This is important because our processes are very complex."
