Diamond Appoints Jennison Asuncion to Advisory Board; Industry Veteran Brings Digital Accessibility Perspective

Los Angeles, CA, March 18, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Diamond, a digital agency specializing in scalable, high performance web and mobile applications announced their newest advisory board member, Jennison Asuncion, an award-winning leader in digital accessibility. The announcement was made during the 34th annual CSUN Assistive Technology Conference (#CSUNATC19), where Jennison serves as program and conference chair.

Asuncion spent seven years at the Royal Bank of Canada working with designers, developers, QA testers, project managers, and external vendors, supporting their efforts to meet the bank's IT accessibility standards. He moved to Silicon Valley where he works at LinkedIn directing their digital accessibility engineering efforts.

He invigorated the Accessibility (#a11y) community in the Bay with the foundation of the Bay Area Accessibility and Inclusive Design meetup. Jennison also founded many accessibility camps around the globe, and has an impressive array of awards, from being decorated with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, to the Stephen Garff Marriott Award, among many others.

Jennison joins existing board members Mike Dunn, current CTO of Ultra, formerly CTO at Dell, Turner, Time Warner and Hearst, respectively, and Gerry Campbell, CEO of Frequency Group, formerly CTO of Beachbody and Sr. Executive at Reuters, AOL, Altavista, Compaq and Compuserve, respectively.

With this exciting announcement, Diamond continues to add innovative and progressive leadership to their board of advisors. “We are honored to add Jennison to our advisory board,” reveals Joe Devon, founding partner at Diamond.

Despite the growing importance of “Diversity and Inclusion” at organizations, many still have a lack of commitment to Digital Accessibility.

"I am excited to be joining Diamond's Advisory Board because of its focus on helping their clients build rich digital experiences that will also be accessible and inclusive to those of us with disabilities," said Asuncion. Devon added that, "Under the guidance of Jennison, we will be able to raise the bar of the standards currently in the space."

In 2012, Jennison co-founded Global Accessibility Awareness Day (#GAAD) with Joe. GAAD, as it’s known, is celebrated the third Thursday every May. It is a day the tech community can recognize the importance of digital accessibility to people with disabilities through discussions, programs and activities throughout the globe. Additional information can be found at the GAAD website: https://www.globalaccessibilityawarenessday.org/

In addition to the Diamond board, Jennison sits on the boards of Knowbility, the Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired San Francisco and AMI (Accessible Media Inc).
