Abstract

Join this Knowledge Group Online CLE Wage & Hour Webinar. The evolving nature of work in the United States presents plaintiff, employers and the Courts with a raft of unanswered question about how to apply 20th century wage and hour laws to a 21st century workforce. These changes in employment patterns include:

1. technology enabled growth in independent contracting,
2. the use of data analytics to enhance scheduling efficiency,
3. the increasing reliance of mobile devices and other technologies that allow worker to be productive outside of the office.

Technology is also directly impacting wage and hour litigation through dramatically enhanced data availability. The pervasiveness and accuracy of various time stamped employee activity data has transformed off-the-clock disputes into a computationally intensive exercise.
