Elk Grove Village, IL, May 26, 2019 --(PR.com
)-- Beckatt Solutions, a Chicagoland-based 3D printer distributor, is co-hosting an event with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers’ Chicago Chapter (Chapter 5) on May 30th, 2019. The event, an education event for SME Chapter 5 members, is titled “Smart Manufacturing: Advancing the Future with Industrial 3D Printing” and will focus on industrial applications for 3D printing. Michael Storey, an industry expert on 3D printing and Managing Partner of Beckatt Solutions, will speak to the advances and latest innovations in 3D printing, specifically as it relates to manufacturing and industrial uses. “Additive manufacturing, commonly known as 3D printing, is quickly becoming a serious and established tool in manufacturing,” said Michael. “From design and prototyping to workholding customization and even production, additive manufacturing is gaining widespread adoption due to its improvements in capabilities and the falling costs of equipment.” Attendees of the event will learn about the latest in materials advances in additive manufacturing, including composite materials, which are gaining widespread adoption, as well as small-scale, desktop 3D printing, which enables engineers and production managers to produce new parts using cost-competitive production technology.
Attendees at the event will have time to network with fellow SME members and other manufacturing professionals, engineers, designers, makers and students. In addition, there will be sample 3D printed parts from a number of 3D printing technologies, including FDM (fused deposition modeling), DLP (digital light projection), SLA (stereolithography), CFF (continuous fiber fabrication), SLS (selective laser sintering) and SDL (selective deposition lamination). Most notably, Storey will showcase parts printed with industrial and engineering-grade materials. Parts that are high-strength and impact-resistant for tooling and functionality, using these materials, will be the highlight of the demonstrations. Demonstrations of various 3D printing technologies will be available at the event.
Smart Manufacturing: Advancing the Future with Industrial 3D Printing will be held on Thursday, May 30th, 2019 at 6:00 pm at the Turkish Trade Center, 2900 Lively Boulevard, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007. Refreshments will be provided. Additional information can be found at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/smart-manufacturing-advancing-the-future-with-industrial-3d-printing-tickets-62118352665. There is no cost to attend; attendees are encouraged to RSPV at the link above or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
