Allen Academy Launches First Professional Certification Program at TechLearn 2019

Allen Academy offers training and credentialing for learning and development professionals. The Academy’s first program began at TechLearn 2019 and focuses on instructional design.

New Orleans, LA, September 18, 2019 --(PR.com)-- The Allen Academy began classes for its Design Program this week, offering active learning experiences and credentialing options to professional training and learning designers. With a curriculum crafted and facilitated by industry experts, the Allen Academy aims to empower L&D professionals with the skills needed to design, create, and support great learning programs.

Enrollment for the Academy’s Design Program opened in late July with a series of webinars hosted by industry leader Dr. Michael Allen. To Dr. Allen, founder and CEO of sister company Allen Interactions, the Academy represents a natural next step in ongoing efforts to improve learning experiences.

“Many organizations need and are looking for highly capable people to design and build instructional programs that truly achieve needed job performance outcomes. Similarly, many individuals are tasked with creating training programs without any experience in doing so, while previously educated instructional designers are looking to ramp up both their design skills and ability to use new tools to implement creative learning experiences. The Academy’s purpose is to address these needs with higher fidelity programs that even include one-on-one mentorship.” - Dr. Michael Allen

The inaugural class is being held in conjunction with Training Magazine's TechLearn conference, currently underway in New Orleans. Attendees of the pre-conference sessions at TechLearn 2019 can participate in the first Academy course that introduces best practices for creating instructional interactivity. Attendees will also have the option of enrolling in a four-course Design Program, an online series of courses that will progress throughout the rest of the 2019 calendar year. This program culminates with a practicum. Those who complete it will earn an Allen Certified Instructional Professional (ACIP-1) digital credential.

Instructional design guru Ethan Edwards is among the faculty of the Allen Academy and is the lead instructor for the Design Program. A veteran facilitator of instructional design certificate programs, he is looking forward to providing more robust professional development options to the industry.

The Allen Academy will launch additional programs in 2020. Programs will be announced at www.AllenAcademy.com.
