Family Holiday Association Celebrates Over £1m Raised and Thanks Key Supporters

The Family Holiday Association, the UK's national charity giving disadvantaged families a break away, held a reception to announce an unprecedented £1m raised and thanked key supporters for their contribution.

London, United Kingdom, April 12, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Family Holiday Association (FHA) has celebrated its best year ever by thanking key supporters at a reception held at the ABTA headquarters in Newman Street on Tuesday.

FHA Director John McDonald spoke of the charity’s success over the past year, thanking supporters for contributions totalling over £1 million.

“Thanks to our supporters, over 1,400 families have been able to take a break over the past year – all families with young children who have not been able to get away for at least four years,” he said.

“I would especially like to thank Resolution, Eastcastle Management Group, and Malta Tourism Authority for their extraordinary support.”

Resolution, the association for family lawyers, received the 2008 Groups and Associations Award for donating over £10,000 and actively publicising the charity’s work to its members.

The 2008 Corporate Supporter Award was picked up by Malta Tourism Authority for sponsoring various FHA fundraising events throughout 2007, including the FHA Malta Marathon team.

Michael East of Eastcastle Management Group received the Founders’ Bowl in recognition of the Group’s support over many years via its travel industry events, including the organisation each year of the ABTA Fun Run in aid of the FHA, which is now a popular staple of the Travel Convention.
