)-- Arylessence, Inc., the largest fragrance and flavor manufacturer in the Southeast, announces the appointment of its president and CEO Steve Tanner to the boards of directors of the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) and its research organization, the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM).
The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) was founded in 1973 to represent the interests of the global fragrance industry and to promote the use of safe fragrance ingredients to protect consumers and the environment. Membership comprises the national associations of fragrance manufacturers in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia, the Far East, and South America. The Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM) is IFRA’s independent scientific research organization.
Headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, IFRA established the fragrance industry’s self-regulatory practices with the development and implementation of a comprehensive Code of Practice and safety standards, which are recognized by the U.S. Federal Drug Administration (FDA) and followed by cosmetic, beauty and personal care manufacturers around the world.

Tanner also serves as board member and treasurer of the Fragrance Materials Association of the United States (FMA), which is the U.S. member organization of IFRA. He has been president and CEO of Arylessence for twelve years and has led the company's growth in new markets, recently expanding production capacity at the company’s state-of-the-art facility outside Atlanta.
