MAGE Auction Now Devoted to Products for Women, Home and Family

MAGE Auction, formerly an online auction site devoted to automotive products, has received a face lift and has a new focus—Products for women and household.

Saint James, MO, March 22, 2006 --(PR.com)-- In early March 2006, the offices of The Route 66 Auction (the parent company of MAGE Auction) received a phone call from an AVON® representative with a request. She wanted to list her products for sale on the site. There was a problem…The Route 66 Auction is devoted solely to automotive products and services. MAGE Auction, which had initially been an automotive only site, was sitting idly, as the auto niche was filled by its parent site. Thus, an idea was born—Transform MAGE Auction into a sister site to The Route 66, with a focus on women and products for the home and family.

"The change to a women and family focus is such a natural transformation; I am a little surprised we didn’t think of it sooner,” said Theresa Corliss, Owner of MAGE Auction. “With The Route 66, we have all the products you would find in a garage or on the road; now we can create a portal to buy and sell everything you would find in a home or in a woman’s purse. Now, it’s as if The Route 66 is the Gone in Sixty Seconds and MAGE is the Fried Green Tomatoes of auction sites!”

The anchor stores of the MAGE Auction site are MrsAVON and TupperwareQueen, both are woman-owned and operated, as are the Isis Botanicals, Tigger’s Trinkets and MAGE Products stores. The selling categories have been modified and geared toward the site’s focus, and include cosmetics, skin care, health & wellness, perfume & cologne, jewelry & watches, clothing & accessories, home entertainment, stationery & office, kitchen & dining, home décor/furnishings, gift sets/baskets, crafts/craft supplies and others. The site welcomes male-owned stores and items as well, the only requirements are that the items be legally allowed for sale, and should fit within the women, home and family orientation of MAGE Auction.

“While our focus may be exclusive, we certainly have no desire to exclude anyone from utilizing MAGE Auction, rather our intent is to create a highly targeted market for sellers,” explained Corliss. “Our goal is to produce a marketplace so focused that when a consumer thinks of buying home and women’s products online, they think—MAGE Auction.”

The new MAGE Auction was officially launched in mid-March 2006.
