One Arrested Attempting to Liberate Laptop from Tire Store

Portland, OR, August 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Police arrested one individual suspected of attempting to steal a laptop from an Oregon tire store after Sonitrol Pacific detected the break-in July 30.

An experienced Sonitrol Pacific operator received an alarm activation from the business and he dispatched police. While officers were en route, the operator continued to monitor activity at the scene with real-time audio sensors and he heard sounds indicative of movement inside the building.

Police arrived and took one suspect into custody. A K9 unit entered the store to ensure no other individuals were hiding inside.

According to officers, the suspect was walking out an open door carrying a brand new laptop, still in the box.

Sonitrol Pacific has protected businesses in the Pacific Northwest since 1978. The company will celebrate its 30th anniversary in September with an Oktoberfest Open House at its Portland office.
