Previously available only in tubing form, AdvantaFlex thermoplastic elastomer is now offered as molded components for biopharmaceutical manifold assembly applications. Wyes (Y), tees (T), cross (X) connectors, and reducer connectors, as well as sanitary ends and container closures, allow for single resin validation and one material contact surface. AdvantaFlex molded assemblies eliminate most barbed fitting connections and their leak potential while they provide an alternative to silicone. - December 02, 2011
Three of NewAge Industries’ team member committees – ESOP, Wellness, and Helping Hands – worked together to help those in need. Three charities benefited from the employees’ efforts, and employees became healthier themselves by literally walking an extra mile. The team wore pedometers during October and made charitable donations upon reaching milestones of five and then ten million steps collectively. The group also held a clothing drive and is now working on a food drive and Toys for Tots. - November 25, 2011
NewAge Industries proudly notes the 55th anniversary of its first plastic hose, Nylobrade. The product was introduced to the U.S. in 1956 and is still used today for air, gas, and fluid transfer in industries such as chemical, food and beverage, OEM, appliance, and even toy and spa. Nylobrade holds NSF certification for food equipment (NSF 51) and potable water (NSF 61). Silcon(R) Med-X tubing is manufactured from platinum-cured silicone for purity in critical fluid flow applications such as pharmaceutical, medical, surgical, food and beverage. The tubing is extremely flexible and will not support bacteria growth. Tubing manufacturer NewAge Industries installed a one megawatt rooftop solar panel system and hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 8, 2011. The system – the sixth largest of its type in Pennsylvania – is now in operation and provides 50 percent of the company’s energy needs. It is, to date, NewAge’s most challenging green initiative. In attendance was U.S. Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick (R-8) who said, “You’re demonstrating an example a lot of other manufacturing organizations should take a look at.” - June 12, 2011

Polyethylene-lined EVA tubing offers the functionality and cleanliness of polyethylene with the flexibility of EVA for applications such as food and beverage processing, fluid feeds and drains, chemical transfer, and appliance components. The tubing is manufactured by producing the polyethylene, or PE, layer and then extruding the flexible EVA cover around the PE. New Overmolded Tri-Clamp Ends from AdvantaPure offer an option for sanitary connections with PVC, TPE, and TPR tubing. AdvantaPure now offers its APST silicone tubing in nearly 50 sizes for use in pharmaceutical, biotech, biomedical, chemical, food, and beverage applications. The wide range of sizes addresses requirements for multiple fluid transfer uses. APST is extremely flexible, contains no animal-derived ingredients, and offers a temperature range of -100°F to 400°F (-73°C to 204°C). Plastic tubing manufacturer NewAge Industries will have 4000 solar panels installed on its roof that will generate more than 50 percent of its electricity requirements. The company received state and federal grants to help fund the project, which should be completed during the first quarter of 2011. Cam and groove fittings are now offered by NewAge Industries in four materials: nylon, industrial-grade polypropylene, food-grade polypropylene, and PVDF. NewAge Industries announces the passing of Raymond E. Baker, its founder. Baker started the company in 1954. He imported hardness testing equipment and PVC hose from Europe and grew the company into a multi-million dollar business. New DocuLink provides a practical method of critical document retrieval for manifold identification. DocuLink simplifies the tracking of individual manifolds after they’ve been installed by using a silicone-encased label on each part. The labels are embedded into the manifold during manufacture at connection points such as T’s or Y’s. NewAge Industries changed its trash and recycling system, made building renovations, and stopped printing a full-line product catalog, all in an effort to go green. Now available from stock, EPDM hose offers excellent chemical resistance, flexibility, and a smooth, sanitary core. Called APEWF, the hose handles both pressure and vacuum applications and offers improved flexibility over stiffer fluoropolymer hoses. The newly created position of Distribution Sales Manager has been developed to address the needs of NewAge’s increasing number of distributors. 23-year employee Fred Pfaff has been appointed to the job. Annabelle Black, 22 years with the company, now handles all inside sales management, a responsibility previously shared with Pfaff. Closures and stoppers for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical processing containers assure aseptic fluid transfer.
