Celebrate the Holidays with the Independence Visitor Center Corporation

The holiday season has once again arrived in the Philadelphia region, and Independence Visitor Center wants visitors and locals alike to start the holiday season at the Center. Gather at Independence Visitor Center, located at 6th & Market Streets, to experience all the holiday fun at the heart of Independence Mall.

Philadelphia, PA, November 12, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Back for its second year is Independence Visitor Center’s “Top Ways to Entertain Out-of-Town Family Members” during the holiday season. Residents are asked to submit their favorite holiday photos and suggestions for how to spend the holiday season in the Greater Philadelphia Region to Holidays@IndependenceVisitorCenter.com . All of the ideas submitted will be featured in the special Holiday section of the Independence Visitor Center website. This way, all visitors can log on to their website, www.IndependenceVisitorCenter.com, and learn about some of Philadelphia’s best-kept holiday traditions.

Throughout the month of December, visitors and residents are invited to enjoy the rich sounds of the holidays as local choirs and musical groups perform live at the Visitor Center. Local schools, churches, and community groups are invited to perform joyful holiday music throughout the building to bring in the holiday spirit.

The Independence Visitor Center has partnered with One Warm Coat and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital’s Family Center to host its annual Holiday Coat Drive, from November 24, 2008 through January 2, 2009. Every winter, thousands of men, women, and children in the Greater Philadelphia region brave harsh winter conditions without a coat to keep warm. Visitors and residents are invited to donate “gently used” coats to help those in need by making their winter a little warmer.

The Independence Visitor Center is also excited to offer residents and visitors free gift wrapping every Saturday during the holiday season. After a long day of shopping, stop by Independence Visitor Center and have your gifts wrapped for free.

All holiday events at the Visitor Center are free and open to the public. For more information about events at the Center, visit www.IndependenceVisitorCenter.com .
