CAI Announces the 2006 Compensation Conference on August 4 in RTP

CAI's 2006 Compensation Conference for Human Resource Professionals and Managers to Align Compensation Systems with Business Strategy August 4, 2006 in RTP, NC.

Raleigh, NC, June 21, 2006 --(PR.com)-- CAI’s 2006 Compensation Conference on August 4, 2006 provides advice and information from expert presenters on how to align compensation initiatives with business strategy. Presenters include Florence Lively with Red Hat, Lois Makoid, and two presenters from CAI, Molly Hegeman and Sherri Dodd-Tumicelli. The speakers collectively have over 50 years of human resource and compensation experience in a variety of industries including finance, healthcare, technology, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and telecommunications.

Topics include how to align pay structure with business strategy, incentive and sales compensation best practices, total rewards strategy, compensation legal issues, and a review of the CAI 2006 Wage and Salary Results that contains comprehensive North Carolina wage and salary data.

Highlights of the conference include Aligning Pay Structure with Business Strategy presented by Florence Lively, Director, Human Capital from Red Hat. Ms. Lively will speak on how to drive business objectives with effective compensation design, how to avoid common mistakes with compensation systems, and strategies to align business strategy with compensation. Ms. Lively is a Senior Human Resources Executive with over 20 years of extensive domestic and global experience in multiple industries. She has expertise in best practices, systems, executive compensation, benefits, succession planning, labor, organizational development and training, global practices, and change management. She has held senior HR positions with Red Hat and Invensys and has worked in human resources at Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC, Duke University, and other businesses. 

Lois Makoid, Human Resource Consultant, will present on Total Rewards to help businesses define a total rewards strategy, identify strategic goals, and measure return on investment. Dr. Makoid is a senior human resource professional with over 20 years of industry and academic experience in strategic human resource planning, global compensation and benefits, organization development, executive/management development, and performance management. She has held senior HR positions with Quintiles Transnational, Research Triangle Institute, Invensys, Litton Industries and Nortel Networks. 

Molly Hegeman, Manager of Compensation Services with CAI, will present Incentive and Sales Compensation with strategies on how to develop an overall model for sales and incentive design plans, effective employee compensation and best practices. Ms. Hegeman holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the State University of New York and has over 17 years of human resource and compensation experience. She has held senior positions in compensation and human resources at National Commerce Financial, SunTrust Banks and in the healthcare industry. 

Sherri Dodd-Tumicelli, Survey Specialist with CAI, will present key findings from CAI’s 2006 Wage and Salary Survey highlighting key data and trends in compensation throughout North Carolina. She will also teach participants how to use survey data in their compensation program. Ms. Dodd -Tumicelli is a Senior Human Resource Professional (SPHR) with 10 years of experience in human resources at Invensys and CAI. She manages all of CAI’s wage, benefit, and policy surveys including the 2006 NC Wage and Salary Survey. 

This conference also qualifies for 5.5 General HRCI credits. 

The 2006 Compensation Conference takes place August 4, 2006 from 9:00am-4:00pm at the Sigma Xi facility in RTP, NC and includes continental breakfast and lunch. Registration begins at 8:30am.
