NAMWOLF Lauds President Obama's Pick for General Counsel at Treasury

The National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms applauds President Obama's pick for General Counsel at Treasury, George W. Madison.

Milwaukee, WI, April 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The National Association of Minority and Women-Owned law firms (“NAMWOLF”) applauds President Barack Obama’s selection of George W. Madison for general counsel at Treasury.

“Mr. Madison’s dedication to the community and advancing diversity will only be furthered by his involvement as general counsel at Treasury under President Obama,” Yolanda Coly said, “It is a continued representation of changing times within America.”

Mr. Madison was the first African-American elected to partnership at New York’s Mayer, Brown & Platt. Most recently, Mr. Madison was the Executive Vice President and General Counsel with TIAA-CREF. Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Madison’s work in diversity was awarded in 2000 with the Minority Corporate Counsel Association’s Diversity 2000 Award.
