Newly Created White Oak Films to Launch ‘LEGENDS’ Series Benefiting Industry Pros in Need

www.whiteoakfilms.com -- "Living Legends" -- An innovative interview series that highlights the legacies and little known facts of legendary individuals from the entertainment community as well as all other walks of life, is being produced by new company White Oak Films.

Hollywood, CA, July 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Bridging the generation gap, White Oak Films, a new television production entity, has been formed by blending the vast experience of industry creative veterans writer/producer John Dayton, noted writer/entertainment historian Marc Scott Zicree and longtime public relations/marketing executive Dale C. Olson, along with younger creative execs Merrill Capps, Todd Klick and Cory Travalena who are attuned to today’s rapidly changing technologies.

Capps, who has functioned in writing, producing, acting, and music on several independent films, has been elected President of White Oak. The company is now in development on their first project, Living Legends, a one hour, in depth interview series with key historic members of the entertainment community who are still among us. The show will give them a chance to share a part of their legacies we’ve never seen before. Series creator, Dayton, who appropriately had a long association with legends Ray Bradbury and the late Katharine Hepburn, will also direct. Living Legends will be co-written by Zicree, Klick, and Capps. Zicree is the author of the landmark book, “The Twilight Zone Companion,” and more than l00 teleplays, screenplays and pilots for network television, as well as feature films. Klick is a Nicholls Fellowship Screenplay Quarterfinalist who produced, directed and wrote the recently released feature documentary “Rough Cut.” Dayton, Zicree and Olson will Executive Produce, Travalena will bring his post-production expertise and will produce along with Capps and Klick.

White Oak has pledged a perpetual donation from each episode, to benefit The Actors Fund for Everyone in Entertainment, the 127-year-old charity that aids industry professionals in need. “We will be paying tribute to those stalwart entertainment veterans whose work made it possible for us to become involved in this industry,” stated Capps, who stressed, “By honoring the legends of our past, we will support the legends of tomorrow through the Actor’s Fund.”
