Alvarado Street Bakery Featured in New Michael Moore Documentary

A Standing Ovation for the LA Screening of “Capitalism: A Love Story”

Petaluma, CA, September 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Alvarado Street Bakery, an organic bakery located in Petaluma, CA, was featured in the latest Michael Moore documentary “Capitalism: A Love Story” which opens nationwide October 2nd.

Three employees, Sara Romero, Ronnie Bell and Custodio Quiroz, production workers at Alvarado Street Bakery, joined Michael Moore on the red carpet at the premier of his new movie held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, CA. These employees were interviewed by Michael Moore’s staff for inclusion in the documentary, and were invited to attend the September 15th premier.

Other guests included Winona Ryder, Hal Sparks, Larry King, Thora Burch, Bill Maher, Camryn Manheym, and Roseanne Barr.

Alvarado Street Bakery is a worker owned cooperative in its 30th year and is owned and managed entirely by the employees. They were included in the film as evidence that alternative business models can work. Alvarado Street Bakery makes sprouted wheat bread and bagels that are sold in grocery stores and natural food stores nationally and internationally.
