Would you Buy Nothing for Something?

Unemployed graduates initiate the biggest Internet experiment of all time. Earning an income selling nothing online.

Melaka, Malaysia, September 20, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Unemployed graduates initiate the biggest Internet experiment of all time.  An Internet experiment initiated by three Malaysian graduates recently have now evolved into a money-making opportunity. What are they selling? Nothing.

The site, aptly named sellingnothing.com, speaks about consumers today who are willing to spend on luxuries, keepsakes or forgettable items, which to some, would be of no purpose. Examples given were the selling of bottled air from Wales and designer water from France.

"If people can put in money to buy something for absolutely nothing at all, will they buy nothing at all?" wrote founder Samuel Y. And that is precisely what the experiment is all about.

Publicity for this experiment have mostly been from blogs which all three graduates own. Fellow bloggers are also encouraged to advertise the site by placing a banner on their blogs. The banner comes with a counter that monitors the selling of nothings on a daily basis. These bloggers have the opportunity to cash in on the experiment as rewards will be given out.

People interested to buy nothing can visit the site and opt to buy nothing. There are different options to choose from and a complimentary advertisment space will be thrown in based on how much nothing has been bought.

To encourage more people to join in this experiment, the highest buyer of nothing will be placed on the top of the page until someone else buys more nothings.

Currently, traffic to this site is building up and it would be interesting to see its progress in the next few weeks. It is true. Now, everyone can buy nothing.
