Cole Clarifier from OneWink, LLC Promises to Improve General Aviation Safety

Bloomington, IL, October 04, 2006 --(PR.com)-- In-flight safety for general aviation just became safer with the introduction of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved Cole Clarifier (patent pending) from OneWink, LLC, headquartered at the Central Illinois Regional Airport (KBMI) in Bloomington.

“Adjusting an altimeter during flight is often difficult, especially in turbulence, during instrument flight (IFR) or in low light conditions.  The veneer scale is quite small, and under optimal conditions it is hard to read and to adjust accurately.  The Cole Clarifier magnifies the numbers in the Kollsman window, which makes adjustment much easier and more accurate,” said Ky Ajayi, CEO of OneWink.

The Cole Clarifier is a coated lens that is designed to bond over the barometric pressure window (commonly referred to as the Kollsman Window) of TSO’d altimeters.  The bonding process also is FAA approved and must be performed by OneWink technicians.

Pilots who have tested the Cole Clarifier in flight found that the device greatly enhances their ability to adjust the altimeter in all flight conditions.  At the same time, the Cole Clarifier did not compromise their ability to read the altitude display of the instrument.

According to OneWink, the increased ease of adjusting the Kollsman window may actually improve flying safety by minimizing the number of errors in setting the ambient barometric pressure in flight.

“The Cole Clarifier is especially useful for pilots over the age of 40, the common age at which changes in focusing become noticeable.  The majority of general aviation pilots fall into this category, including its inventor,” said Mr. Ajayi.

A variety of purchase options are available.  A modified altimeter may be purchased from OneWink (either new or rebuilt), an altimeter may be sent to OneWink for modification when removed for biannual inspection, or a new or rebuilt TSO’d altimeter may be sent to OneWink for modification.  Alternatively, pilots may opt for direct installation by flying to KBMI, which would allow OneWink technicians to install the Cole Clarifier on the altimeter without removing it from the panel.

All installations are accompanied by the requisite FAA documentation.

OneWink, LLC was formed by an active, middle-aged pilot who saw the need for the Cole Clarifier.  For more information, please visit OneWink’s web site at www.onewinkllc.com.
