Woodfork Genealogy, LLC is Preserving the History of Union High School in Caroline County, VA

Woodfork Genealogy, LLC, has started a history project to document and preserve the history of Union High School in Bowling Green, VA.

Bowling Green, VA, December 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Marion Woodfork Simmons is collecting information and interviewing individuals who attended or worked at Union High School. Other individuals with knowledge of Union High School, Bowling Green Industrial Academy, Caroline County Training School or the Caroline County Sunday School Union are also encouraged to participate.

Individuals are encouraged to share photographs and other memorabilia that help to tell the story of the school. All items will be digitally scanned and/or copied and returned to the owner.

People wanting to participate in the history project or having other information regarding Union High School or the Caroline County Sunday School Union can call Marion Woodfork Simmons at (301) 549-3659. The goal is to complete interviews by the end of August 2010.

About Woodfork Genealogy, LLC

Woodfork Genealogy LLC was founded by Marion Woodfork Simmons in 2004. The mission of the company is to document and preserve the history of the communities in which her ancestors lived. While performing genealogy research in Caroline County, VA Ms. Simmons found there was little documented information regarding the African American communities. She began to learn about the rich history of the communities while talking to local residents.

In 2009 she decided to collect information and memorabilia in order to preserve the history of the communities. The Union High School History project is the first of several projects she intends to pursue to preserve the history of African American communities in Caroline County, VA.
