GirlZone.com, Online Trailblazer, is Re-Launched

Burlington, VT, April 10, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Girl Zone Corporation has re-launched www.girlzone.com with unique features, a new design and a variety of new partnerships.

Girl Zone is a hip and healthy online magazine and community for teenage girls ages 12 and up. The site provides information and interactivity to teen girls in an empowering environment. Girl Zone was originally launched in 1997 with a specific “whole girl” mission in mind. Founder, MJ Reale states, “Girl Zone was one of the first websites to target teen girls and quickly became a top destination for this group. While the internet has vastly changed, many issues relevant to girls’ lives have not changed. We are excited about the re-launch and will continue to listen to and involve girls of this generation.” Girl Zone offers rich content related to all aspects of a girls life - sports, fashion, careers, life issues, health/body, entertainment, volunteering, DIY, environment, relationships, technology etc.

Some of their updated partnered features include:

* Get Moving! - This sports feature includes content from the Women’s Sports Foundation’s GoGirlWorld website including a sports database, training tips, message boards, Q&A, quizzes, surveys.
* TechKnow Girl – This section is devoted to technology and includes online safety information from LMK – Life Online, a Girl Scouts and Windows collaboration.
* Your Future - This feature provides a series of articles and an ongoing blog about options for the future in education and careers, written by Where’s the Map author Beth Hood.
* Play Arcade – Real Media provides a full online arcade and downloadable game sections that appeals to girls.
* Mind-Spirit-Me – This new section offers up a variety of information that reflects a girl’s spiritual life. This includes content from Yoga Journal, Yoga Minded and Girl Force.
* She Does It - This feature offers up fun, interactive tutorials on making repairs, cooking and other important life skills, featuring content from Demand Media.
* Girls Get Green - This new section reflects a partnership with Teens Turning Green and gives girls basic info and ideas on how to protect their world.
* Write@Her - Sometimes something old is something new - this partnership with A Girl's World offers up a snail mail pen pal system.

Recent college grad Sara Rowe is the Managing Editor of the website. Sara has a BA in English Writing and History and a MA in Children’s Literature. She is a freelance writer and editor whose work has been published in Chicken Soup for the Soul books and Kiki Magazine, among other publications. Sara says, “I know that the strong self esteem message of Girl Zone is desperately needed for preteen and teenage girls and I’m excited to be a part of bringing it to them.”
