Fozmula Turns Up the Heat with New Sender Design

A new and improved range of liquid level senders – the T/LL171 series – has been launched by Fozmula Limited of Leamington Spa.

Leamington Spa, United Kingdom, September 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- With improvements in reliability, flexibility and overall life-span, the T/LL171 has been optimised for use in hot environments.

Based mechanically upon one of Fozmula’s highly successful capacitance switches, but following extensive re-programming of the switch’s software, the basic on/off operation has been replaced with a continuous output of the tank contents level. The output signal is the industry standard 4 – 20mA, but an optional 1 – 5V can also be provided. Available in a selection of thread sizes the sensor’s small footprint minimises both its weight and the risk of accidental damage. Capable of being used in fuel tanks, engine oil sumps and coolant reservoirs, the sender is suitable for all engine fluids.

Unusually, the sender can operate at very shallow liquid depths of just 90mm, and up to a maximum length of 500mm, and provides an automotive Packard style connector.

Electronic devices are known to drift in accuracy when used at elevated temperatures, such as tropical climates or when sited in or near an engine bay. Fozmula addressed this problem with extensive testing in both the laboratory and rigorous field trial conditions, and data from these tests resulted in a sender capable of operating accurately in environments of up to 125ºC.

For more than 30 years, Fozmula has continued to pioneer the design and manufacture of a wide range of electromechanical, mechanical and electronics sensors, gauges and switches for equipment requiring liquid level, temperature and pressure measurement worldwide. The T/LL171 underlines Fozmula’s commitment to maintaining its reputation for innovation and design excellence.
