Savox Communications Sees Mobile Intercom Success at DVD 2010

Kirchberg, Luxembourg, September 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Savox Communications exhibited at DVD 2010 in June and was pleased to report a significant increase in the number of visitors to its stand at the show. The Savox Communications location at York, United Kingdom, focuses on designing and manufacturing audio and data communications solutions for land and maritime military users.

The DVD event is the perfect opportunity for companies to showcase defence solutions to many of the UK Defence Integrated Project Teams (IPT) at first hand. Savox experienced increased interest in all its traditional products such as tactical headsets, covert communications and respirator communications in addition to newer products such as the EarPAC hearing protection headset and the URIC universal radio and intercom controller. Interestingly the most excitement centered on the innovative ImP IP based intercom system for land and maritime platforms.

Being an IP based modular intercom system, with the ability to transmit data (including video) as well as voice, the solution is quickly attracting interest from teams that need a high performance, flexible, lightweight solution. The ImP system addresses many of the inherent problems with conventional intercom systems by providing features such as high speed data, high quality speech and intuitive, comprehensive control over the communications. ImP features intercom voice command and control, radio command and control, a data conduit for high speed data transfer, flexible configuration options and software defined open architecture system with an IP interface.

The ImP system is compatible with most military radios, has extremely low power consumption, and acknowledging current spending restrictions in the public sector has an extremely high price performance ratio.

Team communication is critical to operational success in the forces and ImP heralds a new ‘agile’ generation of lightweight, easily deployable, cost effective intercom solutions that incorporate the latest types of communication technologies including voice, data and video.

Carl Morse, General Manager of Savox Communications at York, comments, “We are delighted with the interest in the ImP Digital Platform Intercom Solution with many of the defence teams at DVD validating our approach. ImP is a flexible, adaptable and lightweight intercom solution, which at the same time provides full Ethernet bandwidth and IP structure that meets the modern requirements of Network Centric Warfare at both Platform and Command levels.”
