Active Travel Asia Joins Cartitas Switzerland in Project Officer Pro-Poor Tourism in Ha Giang, Vietnam

Active Travel Asia takes part in the new Project Officer for the Pro-Poor Tourism (PPT) project named “Quan Ba District Integrated Community Development Project, Ha Giang province”

Hanoi, Vietnam, December 08, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Active Travel Asia (ATA) is local Tour Operator, offers a wide selection of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar adventure tours, including hiking, trekking, biking, motorcycling, kayaking, overland tours and family travel packages. The travel packages and custom itineraries will take travelers through exotic destinations to really experience the culture, history and nature of Asia.

Caritas Switzerland in Vietnam, together with the local authorities, aims to develop an alternative source of income for the local people with tourism. It will assist local ethnic people through capacity building and awareness rising to become conscientious hosts and actively take part in this new livelihood opportunity. This project focuses on improving the living quality in the Quang Ba district, Ha Giang province, one of the poorest areas in Vietnam.

Goals and objectives: “Setting up sustainable livelihood for the poorest households and the poorest community with attention to indigenous knowledge, strengthening the culture which is facing a risk of oblivion, and obtaining sustainable maintenance of the environment resources.”
