Veteran Staffing Executive Offers Perspective on 2011 IT Staffing Trends

The Select Group’s CEO Sheldon Wolitski Sees Steady Growth

Raleigh, NC, February 12, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Sheldon Wolitski has been an IT Staffing executive since 1996 and the head of a successful recruiting firm with a nationwide presence. He has some key insights on the latest economic downturn, and the steady recovery he says is occurring in 2011.

As CEO and Founder of The Select Group, an award-winning technical recruiting firm, Wolitski has an expert’s perspective on hiring trends in 2011. Here are a few of his insights:

Less is More

“The economy is improving and jobless rates are down, especially in the IT sector. However, the way employers are hiring is changing,” says Woltiski. “The trend is to hire candidates who have strong skill sets and can hit the ground running. Companies are trying to do more with fewer resources.”

Collaborators with Industry Depth and Knowledge

“There is a stronger emphasis from our clients on industry depth and knowledge,” adds Wolitiski. “Filling seats is one thing, but they are looking for a collaborative partner who will work closely with them to understand their corporation’s needs and help grow their teams with high quality talent.”

Mobile is Driving Demand
According to Wolitski, “There is a definite need for highly skilled IT and engineering professionals who understand mobile technologies and can implement them effectively. Our society has gone mobile and companies are striving to keep up.”

Generalists not Specialists

“Along with the need to do more with fewer resources, employers are looking for candidates who can contribute across a variety of business disciplines,” Wolitski says “The generalist is often more sought-after than the specialist.”

Slow but Steady Growth

Wolitski sees indications that things are improving. “Slow but steady growth is emerging. In the long run, this is better for the economy and helps build a stronger foundation for continued growth throughout the year and into 2012.”
