Regina Marketer Wins North American Marketing Award

Regina, Canada, February 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Ryan Holota, a freelance writer and marketer has been selected as the “Marketing Over Coffee” Best Marketer for 2011. “It was a real honour for me to have been nominated for the award, but to actually win it is very humbling,” says Holota. “When I work with a client I always work hard to tell their story in a unique way, and it’s a great feeling when people take notice of that.”

“Marketing Over Coffee,” an internationally recognized marketing podcast defines the awards as honouring “those who have done exemplary work in Marketing over the past year. Often the winners sit at the intersection of Marketing and Technology, having identified a future trend and put it to work. The awards also seek to honor those who educate, have a commitment to their community, are professional, and do work of the highest quality.”1 Holota is in good company with his award – one of the other winners was Alure Home Improvements (Best Campaign), a New York based home remodeler and builder of eight homes for ABC Television’s “Extreme Makeover: Home edition.”

Though based in Regina, the Internet allows Holota to work with clients all over the world. “I’m still missing clients from Africa and Antarctica. I’m sure I’ll work with a client from Africa in time, but it’s going to be a challenge to find someone who can use my services at the South Pole,” he says jokingly, referring to a goal he has set to work with clients on all seven continents. “The most rewarding projects though are the ones here at home. It’s nice to see something that I have done to promote a business and to know that they are making more money because of the work.”

When asked about trends in marketing Holota answers, “The Internet has changed a lot of things. There is tremendous opportunity to reach out to a whole new segment of consumers online, and that is good for businesses. But I also see a lot of examples of businesses moving to digital marketing and forgetting about all the traditional methods that still work exceptionally well. The best marketing approach isn’t one or the other; it is a balanced combination of digital and traditional methods.”

Even Regina’s citizens without a connection to the marketing or business world may be familiar with Holota’s name – he is a frequent contributor to Fine Homes and Fine Lifestyles magazines in the city, as well as other magazines in western Canada. “Writing is really the backbone of marketing, and it’s something that I really enjoy doing. I’m lucky to have been given opportunities with such great publications.”
