Law Firm Uses iPad and Other Technology in Denied Disability Benefits Claims

The attorneys and staff of the Coye Law Firm are beginning to use technology more and more in the course of a denied disability claim. Technology helps improve the claimant's chances of being awarded disability benefits for their disabling condition.

Orlando, FL, March 31, 2011 --(PR.com)-- With cooperation from the Social Security Administration, the attorneys of the Coye Law Firm are now able to use advanced technologies during the course of a claim for denied disability benefits.

Disabled individuals applying for benefits from the Social Security Administration need to submit many documents to support their claim, including medical records and work history. Because the SSA is such a large and complicated organization, electronic copies of these documents ensure that the information is easily processed, stored, and referenced.

Attorneys Dan Smith and Salim Punjani use Social Security's electronic records system to gather client information during their claim. If the case goes to a hearing, they also use tablet computers, such as the iPad, to present relevant information. By using computers instead of physical files, Dan and Salim can bookmark, annotate, and share the information before an Administrative Law Judge.

The firm is now trying to hold disability hearings with the National Hearing Center through video conferences. This saves time and money: two things that the claimant does not have to spare. Currently, the firm uses video conferencing to have face to face conversations with clients who may not be able to leave their homes or travel very far.

As government agencies begin to use advanced technologies as a general practice, the Coye Law Firm will be working to use them on behalf of clients.
