Hermosa Beach, CA, April 08, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Albert "AL-B" Hannemann, 18 year volleyball veteran and Professional Beach Champion has created The National Volleyball League (NVL), a domestic professional beach volleyball tournament series which will take place at 6 events across the United States this year. These tournaments, which kick off May 21 at the Preakness in Baltimore, will offer players the chance to win prize money ranging between $75,000-$150,000 per event as well as gain entry points in the bonus pool. The Players' bonus pool of $100,000 will be paid out to the top 50 women and men players based on bonus pool points accumulated at each event and earn them a spot to battle it out for the NVL Champions' Cup at the end of the season.

"The National Volleyball League will provide a meaningful experience for fans, players and sponsors to fill the void left in the professional beach volleyball space," said NVL founder and CEO, Al-B Hannemann."The NVL events feature a festival-type atmosphere that will excite a wider range of sports fans and provide a great value for sponsors. Our goal is to grow the sport through an aggressive grassroots marketing plan across the United States, uniting the thousands of volleyball communities and club volleyball programs that make our sport so great."
