PR.com)-- Social media is here to stay and Realtors need to “catch the wave” before it’s too late, said motivational speaker Alan Thompson at a recent seminar sponsored by CornerStone Title. He spoke at the Polo Grill before a group 110 real estate professionals representing 39 companies from Sarasota and Manatee counties.
Thompson advised Realtors to maximize their effectiveness by specializing in one or two social media outlets. “Based on your personality, you should pick the social media lane that you feel comfortable driving in, and you should stay in that lane,” said Thompson. Whether you prefer video- using YouTube or a webinar – or short facts on Twitter, you should find the social media outlet that fits your personality and commit to specializing in that outlet, he said.
Thompson also provided an overview of the various media outlets, discussed the three components of communication – verbal, vocal and visual – and proposed ways to engage your audience by sharing something funny, helpful or uniquely useful.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate and mortgage industry as a broker, manager, owner, Florida Real Estate Commission instructor and a management/sales training consultant.
