Online Community Considers How Women Change the World

The Women on the Verge online community will stimulate the conversation through blogs, online radio and virtual seminars.

Tucson, AZ, January 05, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Many people give year round by volunteering their time, giving donations, and providing advocacy, but a lot of their contributions go unnoticed.

To celebrate the extraordinary things that everyday women do on a daily basis, the online community Women on the Verge has chosen its 2012 theme to be: Women Change the World.

Women on the Verge is an online community of women that blog, Tweet, Vlog and tune into a monthly online radio show on the website www.womenontheverge.net. WOTV members will further explore the 2012 theme through monthly subtopics, but to kick off the theme this January, the focus will remain on the Women Change the World theme.

“How have you set your mind and energy to bettering the world at an individual level, how have you been somebody’s hero,” prompts founder of WOTV, Ana Lewis. “What causes are you devoted to? What is the source of your inspiration?” she adds. Anyone can join the conversation by visiting www.womenontheverge.net and creating a free account.

The WOTV blogs, which garner 1,000,000 hits per month, are the main feature of the community and have landed the website in the pages of Marie Claire magazine. The community also boasts an additional 10,000 followers on social media. Members span all over the world and include New York Times bestselling authors, entrepreneurs and mothers.

To supplement all the blogging, WOTV has teamed up with life coach Judy Kinney to provide the Spa for Your Soul 2012 series, which are monthly hour long tele-calls. The series is called Everyday People, an Extraordinary Year and will help listeners find the “inspiration, courage, and peace of heart to change the world simply by being you,” Kinney states. The first session will be January 4 and costs $40.00, for details visit www.judykinney.com.

Additionally, a panel of WOTV members will also discuss their blogs on the community’s online radio show called Women Change the World. The show is scheduled for next January 19, 7-8 p.m. ET and can be listened to worldwide on the WOTV website.

This month’s radio participants include Judy Kinney, community organizer and life coach; Marta Moran-Bishop, author of “Wee Three, A Mother's Love in Verse” and creative videographer; Jessica Mason Pieklo, women's rights activist and attorney; Dawn Rivers, political junkie and micro-business expert; and Elin Stebbins Waldal, author of “Tornado Warning, A Memoir of Teen Dating Violence and Its Effect on a Woman's Life” and founder of Girls kNOw.
