Another Shop Closing Down in Sarsfield Street, Limerick

Seoidín Jewellery and Giftware at 6 Sarsfield Street, Limerick is closing down due to lack of traffic driven to that area leaving one retail shop only in the street.

Limerick, Ireland, April 05, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Seoidín has been operating in Limerick for ten years. The shop specialises in jewellery and unique, hand crafted giftware and furniture. Seoidín is also well-known for their signature jewellery line. Maureen Harrison, Irish Jewellery Designer creates the Seoidín collection: uniquely designed handmade jewellery of gold, silver and semi-precious stones. Seoidín is a small family business operating three retails in Munster, two in Ennis and the one in Limerick. Seoidin also wholesales its unique Jewellery Line nationwide.

“I wear my Seoidín jewellery all the time and just so many people admire it. I mean, why buy non Irish brands when you can get gorgeous jewellery from Seoidín!” says K.M., a loyal customer.

The Limerick shop in Sarsfield Street had noticed a steep decline in 2010 when the road works started. It diverted traffic away from the street and its retailers, and they never seemed to return. “We have been waiting to get business back to normal for a year,” said Maureen Harrison. “With the high rates, rent, new taxes and higher VAT, we could not keep up with the business plan, and decided to close down. We need more traffic, more customers to keep the business alive,.- she continued.

The shop in Sarsfield Street will be closed at the end of May.

Seoidín is planning to re-open in the future choosing a busier, more viable location. The employees are going to be redeployed.
