Marshall Miller Named to Washington and Lee University Board of Trustees

Jackson Walker L.L.P. partner Marshall Miller was recently named to the Board of Trustees of Washington and Lee University. Mr. Miller was sworn in during a ceremony at the university’s Lexington, Virginia, campus on May 4, 2012.

Dallas, TX, June 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Founded in 1749, Washington and Lee University is named for George Washington, whose endowment helped the school survive, and Robert E. Lee, whose leadership helped bring the university to prominence. The Board of Trustees oversees the university’s affairs and is responsible for the governance and management of the historic institution.

Mr. Miller graduated from Washington and Lee in 1971 with a B.A. in political science before receiving his law degree from the University of Denver in 1974. Mr. Miller also serves on the Board of Trustees of Trinity University, where he chairs the Investments Committee and serves on the Executive Committee; and he is active in charitable and civic organizations in San Antonio including the United Way.

In his legal practice, Mr. Miller represents both publicly held and privately owned national and international businesses, as well as start-up ventures. His practice consists primarily of advising partnerships, corporations, and individuals in business and transactional matters, including corporate and securities matters such as mergers and acquisitions and debt and equity financings. Mr. Miller’s corporate practice is complemented by extensive experience in planning for complex corporate, family, and inter-generational matters.
