Enterprising Women Welcomes Two New Members to Advisory Board

Monique Maissan and Rhonda Shear Added as Board Members

Raleigh, NC, July 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Monica Smiley, publisher and CEO of Enterprising Women magazine (http://www.enterprisingwomen.com), has named Monique Maissan and Rhonda Shear as members of the Enterprising Women Advisory Board.

Maissan is the founder and managing director of Vision Textiles, a highly experienced company specializing in sourcing and guiding the production of textile products from original concept to finished goods. She received her bachelor’s degree in textile engineering from Amsterdam Polytech Institute and studied at the renowned Rietveld Academy of Arts in the Netherlands. For ten years, she worked as a senior buyer at C&A Holland and traveled extensively to the Far-east, where she fell in love with China and all the country had to offer. After realizing China’s potential, she moved to Shanghai and became managing director of a large German textile trading company. Soon after, Maissan established Vision Textiles in 1998 in Shanghai to provide high quality ladies’ woven and knitted garments. Since then, the company has grown from a textiles sourcing agent to a full-fledged fashion powerhouse with its headquarters manufacturing base in Shanghai, two manufacturing joint ventures in the Yangtze River delta and a sourcing office in India. Vision Textiles works with several subcontractors throughout the Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces, carefully selects and checks quality of all products and supports a number of environmental and humanitarian initiatives. Maissan resides in Shanghai with her two children.

Rhonda Shear is founder and CEO of Rhonda Shear Intimates at Shear Enterprises, LLC. The company, featured on a variety of shopping networks worldwide, combines glamour and fashion with comfortable, beautiful support for a contemporary women’s clothing line that includes shapewear, lingerie, intimates, robes, apparel and accessories. Shear spent 25 years in Hollywood as an actress, comedienne and television host. She was featured on a number of primetime shows including “Happy Days”, “The A Team”, “Dallas” and “Cheers”. For eight years, she hosted the successful late-night television show, “Up All Night” on the USA network. Her career in Hollywood grew from her tremendous success in the beauty pageant circuit where she won over 40 major pageants including Miss Louisiana. Shear received her bachelor’s degree in communications from Loyola University and ran for office in New Orleans as the youngest woman to ever do so. In 2001, she began to build her own line of women’s lingerie, sleepwear and shapewear through her company Shear Enterprises, LLC, based in St. Petersburg, Fla. Her line has been featured in leading industry publications such as BODY Magazine, and fashion shows, including Fashion Week Tampa Bay. Shear and Shear Enterprises, LLC have been recognized for quality products, rapid growth and unique innovation.

Both women were recipients of the 2012 Enterprising Women of the Year Award and were recognized on March 13 at the Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Members of the Enterprising Women Advisory Board provide advice to the publication’s staff to tailor the magazine to meet the needs of entrepreneurial women.
