Leadership Expert Theresa Welbourne of eePulse, Inc. Wins Distinguished Executive Award

Dr. Welbourne is first woman to receive award from Academy of Management, HR Division.

Saline, MI, November 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Academy of Management Human Resources Division, www.hrdiv.org, recently announced that leadership expert, Theresa Welbourne, Ph.D., CEO of eePulse, Inc., www.eepulse.com, is the first woman in history to receive their Distinguished HR Executive Award. The award is given to executives who have distinguished themselves throughout their careers in the field of human resources management.

Founded in 1936, The Academy of Management is the oldest and largest scholarly management association in the world dedicated to creating and disseminating knowledge about management and organizations. Today, they have 18,226 members from 109 nations and counting.

“Dr. Welbourne is a leadership expert who has spent her adult life furthering the practice of HR, educating individuals and businesses how to be better leaders, conducting and sharing extensive research, speaking at various events worldwide, and much more,” states David G. Allen, Ph.D., SPHR, Distinguished Professor at the University of Memphis and 2012 Program Chair for the HR Division of the Academy of Management. “This is the first time we’ve given the award to a woman and feel that Dr. Welbourne exceeds the criteria for being a distinguished executive.”

Currently, Dr. Welbourne is the FirsTier Banks Distinguished Professor of Business and Director at the Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a research professor at the Center for Effective Organizations, University of Southern California - Marshall School of Business, and the president and CEO of eePulse, Inc. She won the Distinguished Executive Award based on her:

• Contribution to her organization and HR practice, distinguished career and respect in the broader community of HR professionals for advancing the field through effective leadership;

• Contribution to HR research by actively supporting research in HR through institutional collaboration and personal involvement within her organization; and

• Contribution to HR education by consistently supporting HR education, training and continuous learning including involvement in professional organizations, academic institutions and corporate learning.
