Fundraiser to Benefit Children with Special Needs

The 19th annual RBCPC Women’s Night and Silent Auction, which raises funds to help children with special needs, is scheduled for Dec. 4 and 5 at the Rancho Bernardo Inn.

San Diego, CA, December 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The 19th annual RBCPC Women’s Night and Silent Auction, which raises funds to help children with special needs, is scheduled for Dec. 4 and 5 at the Rancho Bernardo Inn.

Children with special needs such as autism, cerebral palsy, visual impairments and Down syndrome learn side-by-side with typically developing peers in the Sharing Lives inclusion program at RBCPC Preschool. Programs like this one are not common; they require additional expense and specially trained staff members committed to making a difference in the lives of all children.

Stephanie Reed, who is helping to raise money for Sharing Lives, got involved in the program after her daughter, Julia, started preschool at RBCPC. In 2006, Reed’s sister, Jacy Carolina Hoagland, passed away at the age of 13. Despite the challenges Jacy faced in communicating and accessing her environment, everyone delighted in her pure joy for life and genuine care for others. Her kind of joy was contagious; a unique and genuine gift she gave so freely.

“I so admire my little sister for the legacy she created in her vibrant, yet short, 13 years of life,” Reed said. “I aspire to impact even one person the way she profoundly left an impression on countless lives, including mine.”

Brad Sondak is also helping to raise money for the Sharing Lives inclusion program. Sondak will donate up to 25 percent of the sales from his Rodan + Fields business at www.greatestskinever.com through Jan. 31. Last year, nearly 650 women attended the Women’s Night and Silent Auction in support of the Sharing Lives program. This year, event organizers have expanded it to two nights. An auction preview starts at 5 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 5, with the event set for 6 to 9 p.m. both nights in the Aragon Ballroom at the Rancho Bernardo Inn, 17550 Bernardo Oaks Drive, in San Diego.

Tickets, which cost $30 per person, are available by calling 858-487-0824.
