SPI Study Abroad Announces March 1, 2013 Application Deadline for Summer Immersion Programs

Leading high school study abroad provider announced its application deadline of March 1, 2013 for summer language immersion and global leadership programs.

Austin, TX, December 20, 2012 --(PR.com)-- SPI Study Abroad, program provider of language immersion and leadership programs for high school students, announced today its application deadline of March 1, 2013 for its summer programs in Spain, France, Italy, Costa Rica, and China, giving interested students more time to plan for study abroad.

“We find that most of our participants can’t fully commit until after the holidays, when most families begin to talk spring break and summer travel plans,” said Celeste Weary program director at SPI Study Abroad. “Over the last month we have received a solid amount of applications and the programs are shaping up nicely, but as always we expect the majority of summer enrollments by March.”

SPI Study Abroad also offers an early application deadline of December 15, which gives families that prefer to plan ahead the opportunity to lock in the previous year’s lowest program prices. “Come March 1 some programs start to close when we reach program capacity,” said Weary.

The typical summer study abroad program with SPI consists of 10-26 student participants and 1-3 program directors and teacher travelers. The most enrollments fall under SPI Study Abroad’s Spain programs in Santander and San Sebastian, with the France programs coming in a close second. With Costa Rica on the radar as the new popular Central American tourist destination, SPI Study abroad has also seen interest in its Costa Rica program rise, as well as the number of enrollments.

“If you have a specific preference on your study abroad program and session this summer, I would strongly recommend noting the March 1 deadline and reserving your place on the program as soon as possible,” said admissions and program advisor Carrie Straub.
