Boys & Girls Club of Burbank and Greater East Valley Provides Free Shoes Through Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids Program

Burbank, CA, January 17, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Boys & Girls Club of Burbank and Greater East Valley is pleased to announce that they have been selected as an official partner of Payless Gives™ Shoes 4 Kids, an annual giving program from Payless ShoeSource. They are among over a hundred of other charitable agencies representing all 50 states in the United States, as well as Canada, Puerto Rico and 11 Latin American countries. The Boys & Girls Club will be distributing merchandise certificates for children’s shoes to the families on their client list.

The Boys & Girls Club of Burbank and Greater East Valley serves over 1,500 youth each day. Over 60% of families at the Club are low income and receive financial assistance. Families were specifically selected to benefit the kids who need it most.

This is the fifth year of the Payless Gives™ Shoes 4 Kids program. Although studies show that properly fitting shoes are important for children’s health and development, a striking number of children don’t own a pair of shoes that fit. Payless Shoesource is working to remedy that here in California.

By helping families who struggle to provide their children with basic essentials on a daily basis, the Boys & Girls Club of Burbank and Greater East Valley, partners with the Payless Gives™ Shoes 4 Kids program, hopes to relieve some of the stress parents feel during the holidays and bring joy to as many children as possible.

Support from the community is needed to continue helping youth in the Burbank and Greater East Valley areas. For more information and to donate, please visit www.bgcburbank.org or call (818) 842-9333
