TV Commercial to Highlight VenturaCountyWest Hotels & Attractions

Ventura, CA, January 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- If you happen to see lights, cameras and lots of action in Camarillo, Oxnard and Ventura in early February, it is because a commercial is being shot to highlight the fun and inspiring things to do in the three cities known as VenturaCountyWest.

The Ventura County Lodging Association (VCLA) is producing the commercial, which will air in the greater Los Angeles area, Bakersfield, the Inland Empire and online. The VCLA is comprised of lodging facilities and destination marketing organizations in Camarillo, Oxnard and Ventura.

In Camarillo, the production crew will film in Old Town and the Camarillo Ranch House. In Ventura, filming will take place at the Watermark on Main, along the bike path near the Crowne Plaza, and at the Ventura Harbor.

Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Hotel and Resort will take center stage in Oxnard. Filming will capture the joy of a bride on the beach, joggers along the hotel's beachfront and a fisherman casting his line by the shore. Oxnard's River Ridge serves as the location to highlight the area's five championship public golf courses.

“We are thrilled that a larger TV audience will have an opportunity to see the beauty and charm of our resort nestled on the California coast," says Lisa Asdikian, general manager of Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Hotel & Resort in Oxnard. "We are excited to share what our property and all of VenturaCountyWest has to offer visitors.”

The 30-second commercial features the song "Life is Beautiful" by three-time Grammy Award winner Keb' Mo'. "It seems like the lyrics were written just for VenturaCountyWest," says Bill Hamilton, CEO of theAgency, a full-service advertising agency in Camarillo that is creating the commercial. "The commercial gives people a sense of what it feels like to be here, why it's so different and special. It also reinforces the idea that the energy generated by the three cities is bigger and more exciting when combined. We believe all three will benefit from the interest generated from the commercial."

"Since our marketing campaign, "VenturaCountyWest, Inspiring Choices," began less than a year ago, we've been very successful in attracting visitors to the area who might have otherwise gone elsewhere," says Victor Dollar, general manager, Four Points by Sheraton at Ventura Harbor and VCLA chair. "The commercial is a way of building on that. The numbers tell the story."

According to the most recent Smith Travel Report (STR) year-to-date figures, December 2012 occupancy rates showed a 4.1 percent increase in Ventura, a 4.5 percent increase in Oxnard and a 5.3 percent increase in Camarillo over December 2011, rates of increase exceeding both the State of California and Santa Barbara County. The latest employment data for the county through December 2012 shows the number of leisure and hospitality workers increased by 1,400 a 4.3% change in the last year. (Source: EDD)

The commercial is scheduled to air this spring and will also be available for viewing at www.VenturaCountyWest.com.
