Located at 1181 Denison Street, Markham, ON, the Canadian Chinese Table Tennis Association, CCTTA, is the largest not-for-profit table tennis club in Canada. Their mission is to promote a life-long sport activity, i.e. table tennis, to people of any age and gender with a friendly facility.
CCTTA has 35 tournament tables in this well-lit 15,000 square feet wood-floored standard Sport Center. The Sport Center features a modern electrical retractable spectator stand for international tournaments and it is open to the public year round (except public holidays).
Canadian governments at various levels, the Chinese Consulate in Toronto, and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Toronto support CCTTA. Table Tennis Canada and the Ontario Table Tennis Association also recognize CCTTA. In addition, CCTTA receives support and sponsorship from various business groups, organizations and individuals.
Since 2006, CCTTA has registered over 600 members and received thousands of guests and visitors. Regular weekly in-house competitions are designed to raise the skill level among members. CCTTA did organize a series of provincial and national tournaments in the past couple of years. The 2007 International Tournament “Hong Kong Cup” was a tremendous accomplishment in Canadian Table-Tennis history. It celebrated the Tenth Anniversary of Hong Kong SAR returning to the Chinese sovereignty. Teams from China, Hong Kong, USA, Canada, and Shantung provincial Nunun, China were invited to participate in the first ever successful tournament held in Canadian soil.
CCTTA aims at moving forward to promote table tennis sport in Canada and more importantly, to provide opportunities for young players to become the Star of Tomorrow.
As a “We are Butterfly” club, Butterfly table tennis and CCTTA will work together to promote table tennis, promote the club, and assist the club with table tennis equipment.
Butterfly is the world leader in table tennis / ping pong equipment and gear. Butterfly will be the official table sponsor for the 2014 & 2016 World Table Tennis Championships as well as the official ball sponsor for the 2013 & 2015 World Championships. Butterfly is also the official equipment sponsor of NCTTA’s 2012-2013 regular season as well as the 2013 College Table Tennis National Championships in Rockford, Illinois.
