Volunteers to Assemble One Millionth Care Package

Operation Gratitude will be the first military support charity to send one million care packages.

Van Nuys, CA, June 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Military charity Operation Gratitude will make history on December 7th, 2013 when its volunteers assemble and ship the group's One Millionth Care Package. No other grass-roots military support organization has ever accomplished such a feat.

To celebrate this unprecedented milestone, the organization will host a day-long event on the large lot adjacent to its base of operations, the California Army National Guard Armory in Van Nuys, California.

All volunteers and care package recipients since the organization's inception in 2003 will be encouraged to attend. In addition, Operation Gratitude will invite current Military, Veterans, First Responders, their families, and the Community at large to gather for a Day of Celebration and a Day of Honor and Remembrance. Children of all ages will be welcome.

More than 5,000 people are expected to attend the festivities which will run from 9am to 3pm.

Highlights of the Event will include:
- Assembly of 3,000 Care Packages including the "One Millionth" & "One Millionth & One" Packages
- The American Veterans Traveling Tribute including:
"The Vietnam Memorial Wall" and "Cost of Freedom" Exhibits
- Military and First Responder Displays
- Entertainment and Celebrity Surprises
- Food Trucks and a Hosted BBQ
- Games & Activities for Kids; Raffle and Door Prizes
- Fun Sponsor and Vendor Booths
- Santa Claus Photo Ops and Giveaways

A touching Ceremony honoring our Fallen Heroes, Veterans from all conflicts and our currently active Military will conclude with a Motorcycle-led procession of all participants past The Vietnam Memorial Wall.

A limited edition commemorative retrospective, The Gratitude Journal, chronicling Operation Gratitude from its humble beginnings to its 10th year anniversary and One Millionth Package, will be released and available for purchase at the Milestone Event.

Additional details about the event, special guests and the contents and delivery of the Milestone packages will be released over the next several months.
