Free Wheelchair Mission Announces Arrival of 550 Wheelchairs to Mexico

A full container of wheelchairs to be given to individuals with physical disabilities living in poverty in Mexico arrived this week.

Irvine, CA, July 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- A container (550 individual units) of Free Wheelchair Mission’s GEN_2 wheelchairs arrived in the port of Veracruz this week. GEN_2 is the latest evolution of FWM’s wheelchair concept featuring additional adjustment points and sizing options for users requiring augmented postural support. The 550 wheelchair kits will be assembled and distributed by Free Wheelchair Mission’s distribution partner in Mexico to individuals with physical disabilities who need a wheelchair, but lack the means to afford one. These wheelchairs bring not only the gift of mobility, but also dignity, independence, and hope for each of the recipients along with helping friends, family, and caretakers to be able to better care for their loved ones.

In the last year, FWM has provided 2,750 wheelchairs to individuals with physical disabilities living in poverty in Mexico making it one of the top-5 nations served by Free Wheelchair Mission during that period. To date nearly 10,000 wheelchairs have been given out throughout Mexico.
