SGS to Present on A to Z of Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) at the 5th Palm Oil Summit

Jakarta, Indonesia, August 01, 2013 --(PR.com)-- SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and Certification Company is invited to address extensively on Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) at the 5th Palm Oil Summit held in Le Meridien Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia, this coming August 19-21, 2013. In this event, SGS aims to inform summit participants about the importance of ISPO implementation within the organization to ensure sustainable palm oil production is in compliance with Indonesian laws and regulations.

The development of the oil palm plantation industry in Indonesia has always led to increasing community earning, increasing Government revenue, creating new jobs, escalating productivity and competitiveness, fulfilling local consumption, providing feed stock for industry, and supporting the new development area; as well as to optimize the management of natural resources in sustainable ways. The ISPO is also supportive to Indonesia’s commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase sustainable natural resources and protection/improvement of the environment.

The 5th Palm Oil Summit, organized by the Centre for Management Technology (CMT) is set to bring global palm oil producers and key players of the value chain to Jakarta this August 19-21. The event will have a leading panel of speakers, industry majors and insightful sessions that are designed to check the level of industrial development and mandate "on Indonesia Sustainable Palm Oil" (ISPO) in Indonesia. Leaders will engage in an interactive learning and networking conference, looking into sustainable yield improvement and best management practices among others.

Mr. Jogani Shashibushan, Business Manager for Systems & Services Certification and Consumer Testing Services from PT SGS Indonesia, will present the ISPO background and legal framework, the implications of ISPO Certification, its robust certification process, and how ISPO certification can help in the reduction of Greenhouse Gases.
