Some of the free classes & demos include: Learn-To-Turn in the 10 lathe mobile classroom with the Carolina Mountain Woodturners. Other special turning demos will be done by Nick Cook, Morris Schlesinger and others. Come watch an artist carve using nothing but a chainsaw. Ben Hobbs will be on hand teaching traditional woodworking methods and how to make cabriole legs.
If you have wanted to get into woodworking, there will be several local clubs on hand for you to connect with, like the folks from NCwoodworker.net, Carolina Mountain Woodturners, NC Woodturners, Catawba Valley Woodcarvers, Western Piedmont Woodcrafters, and more. Bring the kids out and let them learn to turn, come alone or with friends, but don’t miss this “must see” event. After all, it’s free.
