Dallas, TX, October 07, 2013 --(PR.com
)-- At this time there are about 2.6 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, exceeded only by lung cancer. October is national breast cancer awareness month and PointHR is joining the fight against this deadly cancer.
PointHR is supporting the cause by donating $25 for each new customer sign up or Audit performed in the month of October to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (http://www.bcrfcure.org). The BCRF directs 91 cents of every dollar they spend to breast cancer research and awareness programs. BCRF is the only cancer organization rated an "A"+ by CharityWatch.
“In addition to our donations, we have also added pink ribbons to our website to help spread the word about Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” stated Jim Castor, CEO of PointHR. “Everyone should consider donating to one of the many non-profit breast cancer research foundations saving lives, or find another way to help support the fight against the disease."
PointHR is headquartered in Flower Mound, Texas, and serves thousands of clients nationwide. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is an independent 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for innovative clinical and translational research at leading medical centers worldwide, and increasing public awareness about good breast health.
Currently, 91 cents of every dollar spent by BCRF is directed towards breast cancer research and awareness programs.
Since its inception, the Foundation has raised more than $380 million to support clinical and translational research at medical institutions across the globe conducting the most advanced and promising breast cancer research that will help lead to prevention and a cure in our lifetime. BCRF support for promising yet untried ideas is a crucial component of this research.
New grants are announced in October each year. In October 2012, BCRF will announce new grants of $40 million to 197 scientists from top universities and academic medical centers across the globe.
You can be confident that the maximum amount of your donation will support lifesaving research. BCRF remains one of the most fiscally responsible charities in the country. For the tenth time since 2002, it has earned 4 stars from Charity Navigator. Additionally, BCRF is the only cancer organization rated an "A"+ by CharityWatch.
The Foundation welcomes and depends on contributions from all those concerned with women's health. Working together, we know we can find a cure in our lifetime.
