Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines Unveils Boudicca’s New "Café Venus" Following Refit

Ipswich, United Kingdom, December 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Following a refit at the Lloyd Werft shipyard in Bremerhaven from 4th to 13th November 2013, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ 880-guest Boudicca now features a new dedicated coffee and chocolate shop, in the area around the Library on Lido Deck 7. The first of its kind across the Fred. Olsen fleet, this new coffee shop – called ‘Café Venus’ – will serve a selection of delicious speciality coffees and teas and luxury chocolates.

During her time in dry-dock, Boudicca underwent a general refurbishment, a key element of which was also the creation of a new 'Morning Light Pub' on Lounge Deck 6. Named after Fred. Olsen’s first-ever ship, this adjoins the ‘Neptune Show Lounge’, in the former ‘Neptune Bar’, and will provide a popular informal bar area, in keeping with the rest of the Fred. Olsen ships.

During Boudicca’s dry-dock, preparations were also made to replace the poolside buffet area on Lounge Deck 6 with an enhanced new dining experience; when completed next year, this new Grill will serve breakfast and lunch ‘à la carte’, whilst for dinner, guests will be able to book to dine at the Grill as an alternative to the other restaurants on board: the Four Seasons Restaurant, the Tintagel Restaurant, The Heligan Room, and the Secret Garden Café.

Boudicca departed from Southampton on 14th November 2013 on a four-night D1326 ‘Amsterdam & Antwerp’ mini-cruise.

Boudicca will be embarking on 29 voyages in the 2014/15 cruise season, from five different regional UK departure ports – Southampton, Avonmouth, Liverpool, Belfast and Greenock (for Glasgow) – to destinations as diverse as the Amazon, the Faroe Islands and Greenland.
