Diane Powers’ Mexican Restaurants Ring in the Holidays with New Menu Items

Festive entrees and cocktails now being served at the Bazaar del Mundo restaurants.

San Diego, CA, December 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Serving up festive fare and classic cocktails with a twist, Diane Powers’ award-winning Bazaar del Mundo restaurants – Casa Guadalajara, Casa de Pico, Casa de Bandini and Casa Sol y Mar – now present entrees and drinks that infuse traditional holiday flavors into their authentic Mexican offerings, available through the New Year.

All restaurants are beautifully decked out for the season with colorful Christmas trees dressed in handmade Mexican ornaments, Mexican paper flowers, donkey, bull and horse piñatas, painted tin ornaments, and lighted chili ristras. Strolling Mariachis add to each restaurant’s cheerful ambiance.

Casa Guadalajara, Old Town: Holiday Turkey Tamales, a beloved Mexican tradition, is back, filled with tender turkey, raisins, chopped pecans and apples, all topped with a rich mole sauce and sesame seeds.

Other seasonal specials include: Enchiladas Poblanas, Tostadas de Tinga de Pollo, Enchiladas de Picadillo con Papa, Chipotle Cranberry Chicken and Crema de Elote con Pollo.

Casa Sol y Mar, Del Mar Highlands: Enchiladas Navideñas, two corn tortillas filled with sautéed carnitas, onions and cilantro, topped with a cranberry-chipotle mole sauce, and drizzled with crema Mexicana, leads the list in the first holiday season of Powers’ newest restaurant.

From the Cantina comes the RumChata Martini with RumChata liqueur and cinnamon-infused tequila, and Snowberries Margarita, chock-full of berry flavor with strawberries, raspberries, cranberry juice, lime juice, tequila, and a splash of RumChata liqueur.

Casa de Bandini, Carlsbad: Enchiladas Navideñas, Chipotle Cranberry Chicken, Holiday Turkey Tamales, Pollo en Mole Pipian Verde and Green Chiles and Cheese Tamales, can be paired with a number of specialty beverages, such as Egg Nog Horchata, Holiday Peppermint Patty (nonalcoholic) or Tequila Tottie – all to celebrate the season.

Casa de Pico, La Mesa: Four new margarita flavors for holiday cheering: Dos Rita with 1800 Silver Tequila, Triple Sec, Sweet and Sour, and Dos XX beer; Vampiro with agave nectar, fresh lime juice and La Pinta Tequila Pomegranate; Pink Cadillac with Hornitos Tequila, Triple Sec, Sweet and Sour, a splash of cranberry juice and lemonade, and Grand Marnier on the side; and, Spicy Apple Sour, with Gran Centenario Silver Tequila, agave nectar, Apple Sour and fresh lemon juice.

Seasonal entrees include: Holiday Turkey Tamales, Enchiladas Poblanas, Tostadas de Tinga de Pollo, Enchiladas de Picadillo con Papa, Chipotle Cranberry Chicken, Fajitas de Pescado Blanco and Crema de Elote con Pollo.

Through December 13, guests can buy a $50 gift card at any of the restaurants and receive a free $10 gift card; a $25 free gift card comes with the purchase of a $100 gift card.
