Camden, NJ, December 21, 2013 --(PR.com
)-- American Athletic, an award-winning sports facility builder specializing in the precision construction and installation of running tracks, sports courts, and artificial and natural turf fields, has given new life to athletics at Camden High School with the completion of a state-of-the-art artificial turf field and resurfaced track construction in Camden, NJ.
Camden High School’s new turf field and running track feature American Athletic’s laser-controlled technology and an exceptional drainage system - which allows for usage ten minutes after rain stops. The addition of new safety features was also an integral part of the American Athletic remodel. The facility showcases new lights, web-based security cameras linked to the school network system and a 10 foot high security fence. American Athletic also constructed a helicopter pad and ambulance driveway on-site for the principal use of air lifts to the nearby Camden Hospital.
The $1.4 million update to the Camden High School track and field was in part funded by the local township, making it available for all Camden community members to use. An additional $200,000 was raised in support from the NFL Foundation program “Grassroots Grants” through LISC, which funds athletic fields and programs in under-served communities across the country. Their “We Can Do This” campaign also generated funding from the US Soccer Foundation.
"The improvements to the Camden High School Athletic Field have already had a positive impact on our students and community," states Superintendent Paymon Rouhanifard. "Extra-curricular activities and sports are critical to providing a well-rounded education for our students, and I am thrilled to say that Camden High students now have the opportunity to compete on the modern field they deserve."
"We are excited that the field was done in time for the 2013 season. Some of the football players said that it made them run faster," states James Thompson, Principal of Camden High School. "It certainly has raised the morale of the Camden High School athletic program. We are all really proud of the new field, and the Panther logo looks great!"
“American Athletic is extremely pleased with the result of this project,” states Bill Narozanick, president of American Athletic. “It was incredible to see the entire community come together to raise the funds needed to restore the field and breathe new life into the sports program at CHS, as well as the surrounding area.”
